The House System is an exciting initiative at Bangor Academy, designed to foster community, teamwork, and school spirit. Every student is assigned to one of our school houses, which include pupils and staff from Year 8 all the way through to Year 14.
Leadership Roles: House Captains and Heads of House
Each house is led by two Year 14 students who serve as House Captains. These pupils take on key leadership responsibilities, helping to organise events and inspire their house throughout the academic year. They work closely with designated teacher Heads of House to build a strong and supportive team.
House Competitions and Points
Throughout the year, students will have the chance to take part in a wide range of fun and challenging competitions. House points can be earned not only through these events, but also by demonstrating excellent attendance, achieving success in sports, music, and the arts, and representing the school in national competitions.
At the end of the year, the house with the highest total points will be crowned the overall winner. Pupils quickly develop a strong sense of pride and loyalty to their house, and the friendly rivalry brings energy and excitement to school life all year long.
