Young Woman of the Year – Megan’s work at KWC recognised.

As part of the Academy’s Duke of Edinburgh Award, Megan has been volunteering at Kilcooley Woman’s Centre (KWC). She was both delighted and surprised to receive recognition of her dedication as she accepted the ‘Young Woman of the Year’ award at their Summer Social & Graduation Event.

Lisa Mussen (Project Manager at KWC) noted “Megan has shown outstanding commitment to her volunteering with Kilcooley Women’s Centre as part of her Duke of Edinburgh Award. She works incredibly hard whenever she is here, shows great initiative, is always polite and well-mannered.”

Megan is continuing with her volunteering during Year 14 and her story is an inspiring example of the real value our young people bring to the wider community when they get involved in volunteering opportunities with school.
